Structural Engineer

GACE is seeking Structural Engineers to join our team:
Design structural elements and systems by hand and using computer software.
Determine design criteria using relevant codes.
Perform column and wall load take-down.
Use computer software to analyze and design lateral systems.
Draw sections and mark up structural plans for drafting.
Review shop drawings.
Respond to RFIs and coordinate with supervisor before sending.
Write reports under supervision and other related tasks.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Civil Engineering materials required.

Structural Engineer - all levels

We are seeking Structural Engineers at multiple levels to join our team to assure that project goals are met, deliverables are developed in accordance with appropriate codes and within budget and schedule, and quality control objectives are achieved. The successful applicant is dedicated to client-centered service, be a naturally organized person and works well with others in our highly collaborative environment. Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Design structural elements and systems by hand and using computer software.
Determine design criteria using relevant codes.
Use software to analyze and design lateral systems.
Design building foundation, gravity load, and lateral load systems/elements.
Prepare structural drawings.
Attend project meetings.
Review shop drawings.
Perform field inspections and write inspection reports.

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) with a concentration in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience working in a structural consulting environment. New grads welcome also.
Familiar with latest version of AutoCAD and Revit.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work well with others.

Architect / Engineer - Restoration

GACE is seeking technical architects or engineers for openings in facade renovation and inspection, historic preservation, LL11 inspections and roofing/waterproofing. Primary responsibilities will include surveying buildings for defects, writing field reports of the findings and participate as part of the design team that produces repair and restoration documents. The successful applicant should be a self-starter with a genuine interest in preservation, a strong willingness to learn on the job and good attention to detail. The position involves extensive field work and client contact. Applicants must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering or a related area of concentration.
Experience working in NYC with knowledge of FISP (Local Law 11) and NYC Building Codes a plus.
Field work and interaction with clients and contractors will be required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work well with others is required.
Willingness to ride suspended scaffolds.

Engineering Inspector

Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of concrete building design and inspection experience and at least one of the following:
ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector (ACI-CCSI) or ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector (ICC-RCSI).
In addition, NJ DCA Certification for Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector is a plus.

GACE is seeking Structural Engineering students, looking for a summer internship. GACE interns will work closely with other interns, engineers and managers and are afforded the opportunity to learn the processes and procedures as applied to structural engineering. Successful applicants have a strong eagerness to learn, good attention to detail and will not hesitate to ask questions.
